Have you ever had so much to do, change, clean, makeover, create, etc. that you just didn\u2019t know where to start? <\/div>\n
The usual responses to \u201cWhere do I start?\u201d are comments like:<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cStart at the beginning.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cStart from where you are.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cJust start something!\u201d<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Unfortunately, my sequential brain (inherited from my dad) doesn\u2019t work that way. <\/div>\n
(I think that may be one of the lessons the Lord is going to teach me this year\u2014one step of obedience at a time!) <\/div>\n
I need to know why I should choose a particular starting point.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
As a part of my drive to recover my health and fitness, I have been reading an e-book, Sleep Well Again<\/a>, to learn more about my sleep disorder. The book helped me answer this \u201cWhere to start?\u201d question by referencing the Biblical creation story.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Numerous times in my life I have read the story of creation and told it as a Sunday school teacher <\/div>\n
but this phrase has never jumped out at me before.<\/div>\n
In the creation story, each day is summarized like this:<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201c\u2026there was evening and there was morning, one day.\u201d (Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31 NASB)<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Did you notice what comes first? <\/div>\n
Also, in Jewish tradition, the Sabbath and holy days always start at sundown and end at sundown.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
I knew this but never saw any real significance in it until now. <\/div>\n
In God\u2019s plan, it appears that we prepare for what He calls us to do by being rested so that we can be clear-headed <\/div>\n
and fresh-minded when we start each morning. This means two things to me:<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
#1<\/em><\/u><\/div>\n
Since I don\u2019t go to bed at sundown (at least not in the winter),<\/div>\n
 those hours need to be productively spent not just completing today’s “to do” list <\/div>\n
but deliberately preparing for tomorrow: <\/div>\n
reviewing my calendar, menu plans, clothing needs, etc. <\/div>\n
and praying for the situations and people that I may encounter.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
#2<\/em><\/u><\/div>\n
In order to fulfill the calling God has on my life, I need to be rested. <\/div>\n
I don\u2019t function well on very little sleep or poor quality sleep. <\/div>\n
I need to take care of my sleep apnea issues by using my CPAP, losing weight,<\/div>\n
 and following my doctor\u2019s instructions regarding bedtime routines. <\/div>\n
I also need to make sure that our bedroom where that needed restoration and rejuvenation <\/div>\n
takes place is peaceful, comforting, and restful.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\"Bed<\/a><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Now I know my starting point for the first step in reaching forward. <\/div>\n
It is in our master bedroom. My mind is now racing with ideas <\/div>\n
of how it can become a true place of rest and restoration for both myself and my husband. <\/div>\n
It is the evening space that  prepares us to fulfill God\u2019s plan for our lives the next day.<\/div>\n
I look forward to sharing the changes as this \u201cplain Jane,\u201d dated room becomes <\/div>\n
the restful, peaceful \u201cFarmhouse Style\u201d room of my dreams.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
This year began with a word from the Lord to \u201c\u2026[forget] what lies behind, and [reach] forward\u2026\u201d (Philippians 3:13 NASB) <\/div>\n
 I am so thankful that God\u2019s direction in reaching forward is another confirmation of His calling to <\/div>\n
my heart for home!<\/div>\n
