I have read the entire book of Titus&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">but my main focus has been on those verses.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">The past ten days, I have enjoyed a study of the book of Titus from <a href=\"http:\/\/shereadstruth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">She Reads Truth<\/a>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">(an excellent blog with daily Bible studies). Through this study&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">I have learned that the focus on what God has called me to do must be balanced<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;with how he asks me to fulfill that call.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">A few of the specific lessons I have learned or been reminded of include:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">~~I must allow Him to guard my heart while being obedient and risking rejection as I offer my time, knowledge, and life skills to others.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">~~I must allow His grace to smooth out my rough edges and refine my heart in order to be an instrument of His grace to others.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">~~I must be focused on Him and in close relationship with Him so that my heart is more concerned<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;about those to whom He has called me than what that calling \u201ccosts\u201d me.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">In the book of Titus, Paul not only gives specific directions for what those in the church should be doing<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;but he addresses how, why, and with what \u201cheart intent\u201d we are to do it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">How often do we focus on narrow passages that appeal to us&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">without expanding our sights to understand the context and deeper intent of the passage?&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Unfortunately, I have done it more often than I would like to admit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">I am so thankful for the women that were mentors to me, even when they didn&#8217;t know<br \/>they were speaking directly into my life&#8211;a retired missionary that was our Sunday school teacher<br \/>&nbsp;when we were newlyweds, our pastors&#8217; mother (who was a licensed minister herself)<br \/>when I was a young mom and housewife, authors who penned books<br \/>on homemaking and being a woman of God.<\/p>\n<p>Now it is my turn to speak into the lives of the young women that God brings across my path<br \/>&#8211;my daughter-in-love and future daughters-in-love,<br \/>my granddaughter and hopefully future granddaughters with whom we will be blessed,<br \/>&nbsp;the students I work with daily, and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">My prayer is that the Lord will help me to apply Paul\u2019s instruction to my life,&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">relationships, and the pursuit of my calling<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">as I share my heart for home! <\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><i><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Pam<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For many years I have felt God&rsquo;s calling on my life to be one of the &ldquo;older women&rdquo; in Titus 2:3-5&nbsp; specifically in the area of homemaking.
