<\/p>\nDo you connect with the people that are important to you? Do you connect often enough? Or only when circumstance brings you together? Are your connections intentional and on purpose?<\/p>\n

This past week I attended the funeral of one of my cousins. A recurring theme in \u00a0my conversations with other cousins was that we need to get together besides\u00a0just at funerals. As we celebrated the life of my cousin I was reminded that we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow, next week, or next month. We need to plan for the future but we need to live today intentionally and with no regret as if it is our last.<\/p>\n
I am thankful for Facebook because it allows me to reconnect with friends from my childhood and college years, \u00a0and allows me to stay connected with family that is spread across the country and world. I want more than just Facebook connections but distance often makes it impossible to sit down and chat over coffee. So what’s the solution?<\/p>\n
It’s time to make intentional and deliberate plans to connect with people. If they are close by, an invitation to coffee or lunch\u00a0may be in order, or at least making a point to walk across the room at church, school, or a meeting to greet a friend or acquaintance face to face and express genuine interest in their lives. If distance separates us, there are so many ways that we can still connect like phone calls, Facetime, Skype, Messenger Chat, Facebook Chat, email, and more.<\/p>\n
The key to connection is intentionally choosing and deliberately acting on plans to spend time with people. Who will you choose and act to connect with today, this week, soon? Don’t wait until loss makes it too late or a tragedy happens to bring you together. I would love to hear about your connections and renewed relationships!<\/p>\n
