The last few weeks I have been reading about blog design
and combing through Pinterest and some of my favorite blogs for inspiration.
I’m putting together a “Style Sheet” with my ideas and preferences
so I can ask someone with more tech savvy than
I to redesign this blog into what I want it to be.
I thought I could do it myself but have come to the honest reality
that I don’t have the patience or knowledge
to fine tune the little details that make a difference.
Yes, I am finally learning I can’t do it all
but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing or having done!
Be watching for changes!
As I have created, copied and pasted, staged pictures and edited said pictures,
I have prayed about the direction this blog should take.
I don’t want it to be too narrow but
I don’t want it to become so broad
that it doesn’t speak to anyone either.
I have asked God to guide me in a statement of purpose
and in a Scripture that would challenge myself and readers alike.
I believe He has given me both.
The Lord knows that my heart is to become a woman like those described in Titus 2.
He has guided me to shape my purpose from the heart of those verses.
And He has directed me to share the verse that is my chosen motivation for what I do each day.
In fact, it is printed and hangs above my desk at work. I would like to share both with you.
My Heart for Home’s Purpose
Create and energize a love for the homemaking arts through stressing simplicity,
ease, and passion. Share what I have learned to inspire others to recognize
that homemaking doesn’t have to be difficult.
Help women to understand you don’t have to be
a stay-at-home wife/mom to have a home that is warm and welcoming,
and it is the small, simple things that help
you move beyond functional to beautiful.
My Heart for Home’s Motivation
Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul),
as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.
(Colossians 3:23 Amplified Bible)
I would love to hear from readers what you think!
Does this purpose and motivation resonate with you?
Please click on “comments” below and share your thoughts with me
as I continue to seek the Lord’s direction
regarding how I can be used to encourage you
.
I look forward to sharing the Lord’s blessing of
my heart for home with you in the days and weeks ahead!
