Yesterday in our morning worship service, a wonderful couple from our church body
shared their amazing testimony from this past year, really from the last few months.
Margo shared that in October while watching TV with the grandchildren
Wayne went into cardiac arrest and was without oxygen for 45 minutes.
The EMT’s wanted to stop working on him
but his wife and sons (one on the phone from Las Vegas)
continued to pray until they heard, “I got something!”
Despite dire predictions from the medical staff,
he is now doing well and the doctors have called him a miracle.
He was dead but now he lives!
(When the entire testimony is posted to our church website, I will share the link so you can hear the whole story. It is amazing and encouraging! Update: I have posted the link below.)
“Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet;
but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind
and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus.”—Philippians 3:13-14, NASB
As I sat in my chair taking notes as fast as I could scribble, I felt like God was speaking directly to me and giving even more specific instruction through Wayne’s words:
#1 – Get excited over the fact that you can forget 2013;
and look forward with anticipation to 2014!
[2013 was a year of loss and grieving, I am ready to look ahead!]
#2 – Get a word from the Lord.
[I was receiving that word as Wayne spoke!]
In 2014 new responsibilities are coming, expect them and embrace them!
#3 – Get a vision from the Lord: Embrace it! Expect it! Live it!
#4 – Record the words and record the vision.
Share it with people you can trust and then wait for it. It WILL come in due time.
Don’t be disappointed if it takes time, God often gives us just one step at a time.
After all, you can’t take the second step until you have taken the first.
I came away from church excited and energized about
what God was going to do in me and through me this year.
Part of that vision is this blog – it’s structure and content!
Be watching for changes in how it looks, better structure, and more consistent posts as I share my heart and experiences in the homemaking arts!
I am excited for a new year of sharing the blessing He has given me in my heart for home!
Pam
